LaTeX on WordPress

One of my reasons for selecting WordPress for my blogging was its support for \LaTeX, which can be typed as normal, delimited by dollar-sign-latex at the beginning and dollar sign at the end, instead of the backslash forms of LaTeX.  Let’s see if it works:$latex \int e^{x} = e^{x}$ produces \int e^{x} = e^{x}

In future posts, if I need to use math, I should be able to make it readable.

  1. There’s a few scripts around for converting standalone latex to wordpress latex. I’ve got mine:

    and there’s a different one:

    that I found out about after I’d written mine (which I naturally like better;)

  2. Umm, don’t you mean $\int e^{x} \ dx = e^{x} + C$?

    I started math and teaching blog on Blogger a few weeks ago. I wish I had know about this. I’ve been editing equations with a MathML editor, but that also doesn’t work well on Blogger. I’ve had to resort to inputting the equations as graphic files. The problem with this is that it is not ADA compliant. MathML is the best for people with visual disabilities.

    • Well, if I wanted the math to be right, I would indeed have typed $ latex \int e^{x} \ dx = e^{x} + c$ to get \int e^{x} \ dx = e^{x} + c.
