I’m so far behind on everything that I did not get time yet this week to read Chapter 15 of Matter and Interactions, though my son and I are supposed to be going over it (and maybe doing a lab) this Tuesday. Since my son had done the reading already, I asked him to assign the homework (about 10 problems, from the ones labeled P for problem not X for exercise) spread out over the sections of the chapter.
He has assigned us 15P41, 15P43, 15P48, 15P65, 15P67, 15P68, 15P70, 15P80, 15P81, due 2012 Oct 16. I’ve asked him to look over the suggested labs at the end of the chapter to see if there are any we can do.
I’m not feeling that great this afternoon—I just hope I’m not coming down with the bug that my wife has had for the past several days, as I don’t have the time to be sick right now. I’m only 20% of the way through the feedback on the first programming assignment, which I want to return on Monday, I still have the SCFA meeting to go to tomorrow (though I’ll skip that if I’m still feeling unwell tomorrow), I want to mount the pressure sensor and test it for the circuits class, I have to prep my Monday class (feedback on the homework and starting stochastic modeling), I have to send out a dozen reference letters for former students, I have to start reading papers as the outside member for a tenure review, I have to read a program by a student I’m collaborating with to find out why the results he’s getting aren’t what we expect in one of the analyses, and I need to read Chapter 15 and do at least 2 of the problems. Those are just the urgent tasks—I have an even bigger pile of administrative and academic tasks that have deadlines more than a week away.
